I’m just home from a lovely trip to Lisbon with my three adult daughters. What a delight to share this time together. The backdrop here is Sintra, a day trip from Lisbon.

Another honor came my way today. My poem “Linked by Strands of Pink,” from “Given Time,” my memoir in poetry about my mom’s breast cancer and mine, was published for Poetry Month. Inside the cover is a photo of my mom and me taken in Madrid watching a Flamenco performance over 40 years ago. She died in 1978.

In Lisbon this week, we went to a Fado performance, singing instead of dance, with heartfelt words we couldn’t understand.

Celebrating Poetry Month and the support of my family, both those living and those gone. We are all connected, linked by strands of pink.
